Whale Watching from the town of Grundarfjordur

This tours offers a unique whale watching from Grundarfjordur. Nowhere else in Iceland is there a better chance to see the biggest whales of the ocean, than along the Snaefellsnes Peninsula coastline.

Along the Snaefellsnes Peninsula  coastline you will might see Orcas, Sperm, Humpback, Minke and Plot whales plus dolphins and porpoises which are common in the area. For the past years, the herring have chosen Grundarfjordur and Kolgrafafjordur as their port of call and right behind them are the killer whales. This phenomenon provides a golden opportunity to see (and hear) the vast number of Orcas swimming in the fjord. It is possible to get right up close to watch the whales and hear them as they blow.

This trip is a perfect opportunity to take unique photographs of these massive mammals enjoying a feast of herring, day after day.
